Eurostat: Inflation in Greece at 3.5% in August, at 5.2% in the Eurozone

Slightly lower than originally estimated moved by inflation for the Eurozone in Augustaccording to the data released by Eurostatwhile for the Greece inflation closed slightly higher.

Specifically, as Eurostat announced today, o inflation, i.e. the consumer price index (CPI) in Greece rose at an annual rate of 3.5% in Augustagainst the preliminary estimate of 3.4%.

At the same time, the prices in the euro area rose at an annual rate of 5.2% in August, falling marginally from July’s 5.3%, against the preliminary estimate that the consumer price index had remained unchanged (at 5.3%).

At structural part of the indicatorthat is, excluding volatile product prices such as energy and food, Eurostat’s revised measurement confirmed its preliminary one.

In particular, the structural consumer price index rose at an annual rate of 5.3% in August, slowing from 5.5% in July.

On a monthly basis, headline CPI in the Eurozone rose from July by 0.5%, slightly lower than the preliminary reading of 0.6%. The structural CPI was confirmed to have increased by 0.3%, more than previously estimated.
