The European Leagues and “FIFPRO” will hold a joint press conference in Brussels, the Belgian capital, to reveal the details of their complaint against the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), under the title “Protecting player health and protecting the sustainability of national championships in Europe against the arbitrary behavior of FIFA,” after the unilateral decisions that FIFA takes it without consulting local associations, which leads to congestion in the match schedule.

The joint move aims to reduce the authority of the governing bodies in the world of football, in light of the growing discontent of players and clubs against “FIFA”, as the match schedule has become unsustainable for the national leagues, and poses a threat to the health of the players.

Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish League, said: “No local league agrees to this approach. This expansion harms 300 players in these tournaments, and also affects tens of thousands who do not participate in them.”

He added: “We cannot organize world football for 300 players and 20 teams. In Europe, there are 50,000 professional players. These players earn between a thousand or two thousand euros a month, or perhaps a million or two million, and their families depend on this industry, and these excessive competitions affect them.”

He continued: “There are billions shared by the tournaments, and if a new tournament appears, that means that someone will lose. The average European leagues are now suffering from the new formula of the Champions League, and are losing their value in the market.”

He continued: “This matter will affect players who do not participate in these tournaments because they will earn less money, and FifPro realized that this matter is very important, and we must protect this entire industry.”

He continued: “I hope that the recent judicial rulings against FIFA will affect the situation, which confirm that unilateral decisions cannot be taken by FIFA and UEFA without consulting the parties concerned. They must agree with the parties concerned, and not act as they wish.”

For its part, FIFA officials believe that the current schedule was drawn up with the unanimous approval of its Council, after consultations with the International Federation of Professional Footballers and the bodies organizing local leagues.
