European Union to United Kingdom: Suitcase Security Test on Jet Travel

2023-10-11 04:59:00

So can you really take what you want in your suitcase when you travel by jet? To find out, you’ll have to do a test. And to maximize our chances of being controlled, we are leaving the borders of the European Union, heading to the United Kingdom.

To get there, we take the train. There, we must indeed pass a security check as thorough as in commercial aviation, with baggage scanner and metal detector.

Once we arrive in London, let’s imagine that we fill our suitcase with prohibited substances or items. Or even large amounts of cash. To return to the European Union, will our suitcase be checked?

Because to return to Belgium, we do not take the train but rather a private jet. We booked a flight into a business terminal in South London. As soon as we arrive, a member of staff takes our suitcase and places it directly on the plane. We check our passports and are seated comfortably in this luxurious and empty building. 15 minutes later, the pilot escorts us to the plane and we take off.
