The men’s competition saw some fierce clashes right from the start. With four teams vying in each of the four groups, the stakes were high. Greece and Türkiye emerged victorious, overcoming Iceland and Luxembourg respectively. Matthias Por SANDHOLT of Iceland demonstrated his skill once again, defeating Georgios STAMATOUROS. As SANDHOLT stated, “I have now won three out of six matches at the Championships so far, a commendable record for the Iceland team.”

In Group 4, Norway proved dominant against Scotland, while the Netherlands narrowly beat Switzerland in a tight 3-2 match. The outcome was anticipated, given that four out of six players from both teams are part of the Dutch league and are intimately familiar with each other’s playing styles.
The competition is intense, with only the winners of Stage 1 securing a direct path to the Final Stage in Zadar. The second-placed teams will engage in additional matches to determine the final two spots in the prestigious finals.
