The European Parliament reacted this Thursday to the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice to maintain the political disqualification against María Corina Machadoensuring that measures of this type detract from democracy.
In a resolution it was detailed that the entity will not recognize “the elections or the electoral results” of the presidential elections in the country if the candidacy of the leader of Vente Venezuela is not allowed.
Likewise, the letter from the European Parliament urges the European Union not to send an observer mission to the presidential elections if fair conditions are not met with the candidates.
This must be extended “until María Corina Machado is allowed to participate in the elections”.
The European Parliament’s announcement is one of the last regarding the case of Machado, who For the ruling party it will not be part of the process to be held this year.
