Group D: Türkiye takes the lead
In the top battle of Group D, Turkey narrowly won 1-0 in Croatia. Bari’s Alper Yilmaz scored the only goal in the 30th minute following a lapse by Croatia goalie Dominik Livakovic. After a long cross to Yilmaz, he rushed out of his box without thinking and with no chance of getting the ball. Latvia – Armenia 2-0

Reaching the European Championship finals was already out of reach for the Latvians before this game. For the Armenians, however, the defeat in Riga is a bitter setback. Group E: Albania consolidates leadership position
Albania – Czech Republic 3-0
Albania inflicted their first defeat in European Championship qualification on the Czech Republic in front of their home crowd. Thanks to a remarkable low shot from Jasir Asani, the home team took the lead in the 9th minute. In the second half, ex-YB attacker Taulant Seferi made things clear with a brace (51st/73rd). With the 3-0 win, Albania cemented the top position in Group E. The lead over newly second-placed Poland is 4 points, while the Czech Republic is one point behind with one game less.
Sebastian Szymanski opened the score for the Faroe Islands in the 4th minute. The Polish attacker made it 1-0 with a long-range shot. Adam Buksa put the visitors ahead by a second length in the 65th minute. The 2-0 result was tantamount to the decision, the Faroe Islands were subsequently unable to react. Thanks to the victory, Poland, which competed without the injured Robert Lewandowski, overtook Moldova and the Czech Republic and moved up to second place in the table.
