In a video posted on Instagram, Mr Stefanos Kasselakis notes that Nicosia is “the only capital in Europe that remains divided. 50 years, half a century has passed since the illegal invasion of Turkey. 50 years when for some “Cyprus lies far away”, but for us Cyprus is in our hearts”.
The president of SYRIZA referred to the thousands of dead and thousands of missing, to families that “were never united, not even in the grave”.
“Half a century later. Nobody forgets. Nothing is forgotten, he says.
