Tensions with Russia and the war in Ukraine are boosting arms production. The USA is expanding its position as an exporter.

In the period from 2018 to 2022, Europe’s arms imports rose by 47 percent compared to the previous years, and in the European NATO countries it was even 65 percent more. The USA thus expanded its position as the largest arms exporter, as a report by the Stockholm Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) shows.
