The matches of the first round of the main stage were played on September 25-26 Leagues of Europe of the 2024/25 season.
The only representative of Ukraine in the second most prestigious European tournament, Kyiv “Dynamo”on Wednesday, September 25, at the “Volksparkstadion” arena in Hamburg, Germany lost crushingly Roman “Lazio”.
On Thursday, September 26, “Roma” with a goal of Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk at their stadium played a draw with “Atletico” Bilbao.
In the updated format of the Europa League, 36 clubs compete in a single league, where they will play against eight different opponents (four matches at home and four away).
All opponents of “Dynamo” in the main round of the Europa League: “Roma” (Italy), “Lazio” (Italy), “Ferencvaros” (Hungary), “Real Sociedad” (Spain), “Galatasaray” (Turkey), “Victoria” Pilsen (Czech Republic), RFSh (Latvia), “Hoffenheim” (Germany).
The eight best teams of the main stage of the Europa League will go directly to the 1/8 finals. Clubs that will sit in general standings places from the 9th to the 24th, will play paired head-to-head matches to advance to the 1/8 finals. The rest will complete their performances in the European Cups.
