The biscuit manufacturer Lotus Bakeries and the shipping company Euronav enter the Bel 20, while the telecommunications operator Proximus and the stainless steel producer Aperam bid farewell to the flagship index of the Brussels Stock Exchange, announced Wednesday evening the stock market operator Euronext.

The changes will take place on Friday March 15 at the close of trading. The first day of trading with the new composition of the Bel 20 will therefore indeed be Monday March 18.

Other changes are planned in the process: the imaging specialist Agfa-Gevaert disappears from “Bel Mid”, the basket of medium-sized companies listed on the stock exchange, in favor of Proximus and Aperam, which fall by one ” notch.” Agfa will switch to “Bel Small” (small capitalizations).

As for the “sustainable” Belg ESG index, launched last year, it is also the subject of some adjustments. The insurance group Ageas and the image server company EVS are included in the basket of shares in this index, to the detriment of bpost and Proximus.

Bel 20 is the acronym for the main equity index of the Brussels Stock Exchange in Belgium. It brings together the 20 companies listed on Euronext Brussels with the largest floating market capitalization (the securities actually in circulation).

The last changes to its composition date back to December 2023. They concerned the chemist Solvay, now split into two entities (Solvay/Syensqo) and the medical imaging group Barco.
