After an appetizing opening day despite the defeat of the Blues in Germany, the first round of EuroBasket 2022 continued this Friday, bringing its share of emotions, its XXL performances and its… blowouts. For those who missed it, the recap has just come out of the oven.

There were again six games on the program this Friday and the day got off to a perfect start with the NBA-certified duel between Deni Avdija and Lauri Markkanen, a duel that finally tipped in favor of the former despite a Lauri on 33 points – 12 rebounds. In the same group, Poland carried by the duo Mateusz Ponitka – AJ Slaughter (49 pawns between them) took over the Czech Republic of Tomas Satoransky, initially uncertain for the match and who finished with the same total as s he had not played at all (0). Still in Pool D, Nikola Jokic’s Serbia (19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists in 21 minutes) did the quiet job against the Netherlands with a Worthy De Jong who did not come to make up the numbers (28 points at 11/14 shooting, 6/8 from parking).

At the start of the evening, Croatia – Greece obviously represented the poster with a big A for this second day, and Giannis took the opportunity to send a message to all of Europe: “push yourselves, I’m coming”. And as of tomorrow evening, the Freak will want to continue their work against an Italian team which has entered its tournament well against weak Estonia, the Squadra can count on its tandem Simone Fontecchio – Nicolo Melli (19 and 17 points). A victory that made our Italian friends smile a little, who learned like us that Danilo Gallinari was finally suffering from a ruptured knee ligament. Hard hard. In provisional leader of Group C, we nevertheless find Ukraine, who took advantage of their “confrontation” against Great Britain to heal their goal average.
