Eugenio Martínez: TSJ expert opinion is useless if the authenticity of the material presented by the CNE is not validated

Eugenio Martínez, a journalist specializing in elections, said this Sunday that the expert appraisal carried out by the Supreme Court of Justice on the voting records delivered by the National Electoral Council “is not useful” to validate the results of the presidential elections that Elvis Amoroso announced on July 28, in which Nicolás Maduro was declared the winner. “These are the two main omissions of the expert report: TSJ transcribes the information from the minutes, but it does not validate whether the certificate issued by the CNE is from July 28 or was generated later. It is also not validated whether the CNE’s logbooks/totalization records correspond to July 28,” explained Eugenio Martínez in X.

In light of this, he pointed out that not disclosing the results broken down by centre and table is consistent with having refused to carry out the telecommunications audits and phase II verification.Only the CNE has the necessary information to validate its records and databases.“, he added.

The journalist assured in X that these two omissions could cause the minutes transcribed by the TSJ to coincide with the totalization databases. However, he clarified: “It will not be possible to know if this material corresponds to the election of July 28.”

“Only an independent review that validates the authenticity of the databases and physical material submitted by the CNE and its correspondence with July 28 can serve to validate the results. The TSJ’s expert opinion is a useless exercise if the authenticity of the material presented by the CNE is not previously validated. and it is also verified/audited that this material corresponds to the presidential statement of July 28,” he concluded.

TSJ validates electoral records

Magistrates from the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) went to the National Electoral Council (CNE) on Sunday to validate the physical records with the records received by the national counting centers on July 28.

In a video posted on social media, the group of magistrates from the Electoral Chamber, headed by Beatriz Rodríguez, Fanny Márquez and Inocencio Figueroa, can be seen accompanied by international experts and observers who are witnessing this investigation process of the contentious appeal filed by Nicolás Maduro.

The group entered the data center where all the technological infrastructure of the CNE’s national totalization center number 1 is located. They also entered the management area of the CNE’s totalization center.
