The European Union is developing a four-year plan for financial assistance to Ukraine following criticism that hit Brussels because of the unsystematic financial support to Kyiv over the past year. This is reported by “Interfaxwith reference to The Financial Times.
According to sources in the EU diplomatic circles, a draft version of this plan is being developed and might be ready as early as June, in time for the conference on the restoration of Ukraine, scheduled for June 21-22 in London. The plan is expected to include proposals for assistance to Ukraine until 2027.
Supporters of the plan point out that it will ensure transparency in the provision of assistance to Kiev, and also, as expected in Brussels, will serve as an incentive for EU partners – the US and the UK – to also make long-term commitments in terms of financial support to Ukraine.
