Yesterday, Etihad Airways launched a direct service between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and St. Petersburg (LED), where arriving guests were welcomed at a reception at St. Petersburg Airport in Wolkovo following the arrival of the Etihad Airways Boeing 787-9 aircraft for the first time.
Antonaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said: We have received great demand from customers to start direct flights from the second largest city in Russia to Abu Dhabi.
He added: Due to the large number of reservations we have completed, we will work to operate this service throughout the year, so that our guests can travel across our global network of destinations comfortably to our stations in the GCC countries, India and Southeast Asia.
For his part, Asiyat Khalvashi, Commercial Director of Aviation at Pulkovo Airport, said: We are happy to welcome Etihad Airways to Pulkovo Airport, which is one of the leading and fastest growing airports in Russia, and we seek to focus on providing more destinations for travelers.
He stressed that Abu Dhabi is an ideal choice for travelers and is a gateway to famous international destinations, expressing his aspiration for more prosperity in cooperation with Etihad Airways in the future.
