Etihad Airways Launches First Commercial Flight from New Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International

ABU DHABI, 31st October, 2023 (WAM) — Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, today operated the first commercial flight from the much-anticipated new Terminal A of Abu Dhabi International.

Etihad flight EY224, from Abu Dhabi to New Delhi, departed from Terminal A today at 2:35 p.m. The flight used one of the airline’s Airbus A350-1000s, with 359 guests on board.

Etihad and Abu Dhabi International Airport welcomed history-making guests with the seamless experience of Terminal A check-in for the first time.

The ceremonial flight was officially inaugurated in a ceremony attended by a wide range of distinguished guests, including members of the board of directors of Etihad and Abu Dhabi Airport and executives of aviation. Those in attendance included Etihad CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, as well as Acting Managing Director and CEO, Elena Sorlini, and Abu Dhabi Airports Director of Operations, Frank McCrorie.

Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves said: “This is a pivotal and exciting moment in Etihad’s history. As we begin celebrating our 20th anniversary in November, we are ready for the next chapter of growth in our new home.”
