Etihad Airways continues to expand its network of destinations

Etihad Airways launched its first direct flights linking Abu Dhabi Airport and the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, with the inaugural flight arriving at Saint Petersburg Pulkovo Airport, with an Etihad Airways Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Antonaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said: “We have received great demand from our customers to start direct flights from the second largest city in Russia to Abu Dhabi, as travelers are eager to explore what Abu Dhabi has to offer in terms of cultural treasures and an exceptional hospitality experience.”
“Given the large number of reservations we have completed, we will work to operate this service throughout the year, so that our guests can travel across our global network of destinations comfortably to our stations in the GCC countries, India and Southeast Asia.”
For her part, Asiyat Khalvashi, Commercial Director of Aviation at Pulkovo Airport, said: “We are happy to welcome (Etihad Airways) to Pulkovo Airport, which is one of the leading and fastest growing airports in Russia, and we seek to focus on providing more destinations for our passengers,” noting that “ Abu Dhabi is an ideal choice for travellers, and is a gateway to famous international destinations. We look forward to further prosperity for our cooperation with Etihad Airways in the future.”
