To achieve its goal, Etihad Airways had to do the impossible and find talented musicians with the ability to skydive.

The task took weeks of preparation, and began with giving each musician his own piece of music to practice and memorize so that he would be able to play perfectly while skydiving. Each of the musical instruments is also suspended in such a way as to ensure that the musician can play the music safely and withdraw the parachute at the appointed time.

The orchestra was joined by a professional skydiving cinematographer to document the entire mission at every jump, including group shots, as each instrument affects the speed of the musicians’ fall, and safety was always top priority throughout the execution of the work.

But the long hours of training and preparation paid off. Etihad was able to form its own impossible orchestra to assure the world that it is an airline that pushes boundaries and offers amazing experiences to its guests.
