Ethiopia’s Lamecha Girma smashed a world record from another era in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Diamond League meeting in Paris. The only 22-year-old improved in 7:52:11 minutes the mark of the Katari Saif Saaeed Shaheen, who had held the record (7:53.63) since 2004.
