The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) is embarking on a major reform, marking a significant step in its quest for a more “ ethical and transparent“. This decision comes in the wake of royal directives emphasizing the imperative to moralize political action, and the PAM’s aspirations to restore citizens’ confidence in the political sphere, but also due to the scandal ” Escobar du Sahara“, which shook the tractor party.

The PAM recently announced the establishment of a committee responsible for developing an ethical charter, in response to calls from King Mohammed VI for more virtuous political action. This committee, supervised by Kouloub Faitah, member of the political bureau, will have the mission of organizing internal consultations in order to draft a charter in line with the values advocated by the party and the requirements of the time.

According to internal sources at the PAM, this initiative stems from resolutions adopted during the fifth national congress of the party, aimed at moralizing all of its partisan organs.

The objective of the tractor party is clear: To exclude anyone suspected of wrongdoing from any responsibility within the political party or the institutions elected in its name. However, it is emphasized that the principle of the presumption of innocence will be respected, and investigations will be carried out into the alleged accusations.

This approach is part of a broader desire to restore citizens’ confidence in politics, particularly in light of the recent scandals that have affected several imminent party executives in the ” Escobar du Sahara“, including mainly Abdenbi Bioui and Said Naciri.

But the WFP remains determined to “ cut » with its practices and thus affirms its commitment not to tolerate corruption and to cooperate fully with the justice system to shed light on possible embezzlement.

Najwa Koukous, the new president of the PAM National Council, underlined the importance of this ethical charter within the framework of the royal directives to moralize partisan action. She also affirms that renewal and continuity are the key words of the new leadership of the party, with the objective of preserving the very essence of the project of Authenticity and Modernity.

This initiative comes as the PAM faces internal challenges, particularly in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, where a group of elected officials recently suspended their membership in the party. The reasons given in their suspension letter state “ differences over how the party leadership handled local affairs, as well as concerns regarding the gap between the party’s ideals and its actual practice”.

In their suspension letter addressed to the coordinator of collective leadership of the PAM, Fatima Zahra El Mansouri, the 16 members of the PAM from the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region highlighted the gap between the ideals of the party and its actual practice, in highlighting the importance of advanced regionalization in the management of local affairs.

They further expressed their disagreement with the way in which the party leadership treated elected officials and activists in the region, stressing that good local governance must be based on adequate implementation of the advanced regionalization project, in accordance with the royal vision in this matter.

This reference to advanced regionalization, it is said, highlights the crucial importance for the PAM to align with royal directives and respond to citizens’ expectations in terms of decentralization of power and decision-making at the local. This also highlights the hanging members’ aspiration for more inclusive and participatory governance, where the interests and needs of the regions are proactively taken into account.
