Crans-Montana – The three-time Olympic champion Ester Ledecká is preparing for the upcoming descents in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, following an injury. At the recent Winter Olympics in China, following winning the parallel giant slalom gold medal in snowboarding, she finished fifth and 27th in alpine Super-G and downhill respectively. In the combination, she was in second place following the downhill run before she suffered an unknown injury during slalom training. She gritted her teeth, fought her way through the forest of poles in the slalom and ended up fourth.
After her return to the Czech Republic, Ledecká had herself examined. And it looks like she will be there in Switzerland. She will wear number 6 at tomorrow’s practice. The 26-year-old has great and unpleasant memories of Crans-Montana. So in 2020 she finished third in the station wagon. Last year she crashed into the safety nets at high speed. Luckily, she escaped with a relatively minor lip injury. Fighting like a lioness, she competed in the combination the following day, finishing 15th.
