RACER Esteban Ocon is confirmed to be leaving Alpine and joining the Haas racing team to face the 2025 Formula 1 season.

Quoted from the official Formula 1 website, Friday (26/7), Ocon signed a multi-year contract with Haas and will be Oliver Bearman’s teammate starting next year.

“I’m joining a very ambitious racing team – whose passion, work ethic and undeniable development have really impressed me,” said Ocon.

As for Ocon, throughout his career, he has started 146 races for a number of teams, namely Manor, Force India, Renault, and Alpine.

He scored 425 points in that period including three podiums, one of which was his maiden win in Hungary in 2021.

The Frenchman previously worked with Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu in 2014 with Lotus, now operating under the Alpine banner, at Valencia.

“Personally, I am very excited to be working with Ayao again, as he was part of my debut when I first stepped into a Formula 1 car when I was at Lotus Junior more than 10 years ago,” said Ocon.

“Haas has exciting plans and clear targets for the future, and I am really looking forward to working with everyone in Kannapolis, Banbury and Maranello, and being part of this great project,” he added.

Having more or less the same experience, Komatsu said that it is happy to be able to work with Ocon for the next two seasons.

“I have obviously been aware of his talent for a long time and our personal history goes back to Esteban’s first appearance in a Formula 1 car, when I was his race engineer that day with Lotus,” Komatsu recalled.

“Esteban has gone on to become an established talent in Formula 1 and a Grand Prix winner. The experience he brings, not only from his talent base but also from working in a factory team, will benefit us in our growth as an organization,” he concluded. (Ant/Z-1)
