At 54, the former senator of Together for Change Esteban Bullrich He was optimistic regarding the scientific development in the face of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) that he suffers from and predicted that for his 60th birthday, he will celebrate it cured. “I am convinced that I am going to celebrate my 60 years cured,” she said in an interview.
In tune, three years following the diagnosis, he revealed that he dreams of being able to hug his relatives and contribute to the union of society, in political matters. It is a disease of the nervous system that attacks cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of mobility and speech. “I have to ask for help even to scratch my nose,” revealed the former Cambiemos official.
He also admitted that following being diagnosed in 2021, he strengthened his “ability to receive” and his humanity. “Before, I was a compulsive giver, unable to receive or ask for anything. Now I receive love and I get emotional, as if ALS had corroded the armor that covered my heart,” he said.
“I wake up dreaming of uniting Argentines. Disunity is a disease worse than ALS, because most of the patients are not aware that they carry it. And it is very contagious,” he completed in reference to his intentions.
On the other hand, he said that his friends and inner circle nicknamed him “donkey” for his perseverance, and revealed that he finds in religion an engine to go through his days.
“I went to the United States to have a clearer diagnosis. The day before I returned, with ALS diagnosed, we went to mass with María Eugenia (Vidal).
