The Monday Night Football game that closed week 11 of the NFL between the san francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals experienced a strange yet emotional moment prior to the start of the game between the two NFC West rivals, as a few seconds before kickoff the ESPN Deportes on-field reporter came out on the giant screens at Aztec Stadium to fire up the fans that filled to capacity the home of the 1970 and 1986 World Cups.

John Sutcliffe has become a character for those who watch the NFL in Spanish thanks to his particular way of introducing the last game of each week, a shout with his high-pitched voice with the words “Monday Night Football” has been replicated by personalities such as Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

This time, however, John Sutcliffetook his bizarre emotionality to another level as he tearfully harangued the fans who reacted with a standing ovation that left both 49ers and Cardinals players in awe.

“Good evening Mexico, I’m John Sutcliffe, field reporter, Azteca Stadium, let’s show the passion for the NFL, it’s Monday, the 49ers and the Cardinals on Monday Night Football, Viva Mexico, Viva NFL, Viva Monday Night Football! Monday Night on ESPN,” Sutcliffe shouted with tears in his eyes.

The game was a complete domination and a 38-10 win for the 49ers and following the victory, Sutcliffe interviewed San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolowho he made sign some footballs and throw them to the fans who went crazy to see their idol come out to the locker room following the victory.

The NFL game in Mexico included a halftime concert by firm groupwho were booed, however, the fans gave the 49ers a standing ovation by singing “cute little sky“, generating a smile, especially from tight end George Kittle.
