Escaped prisoner found in Linz

The regional court in Linz had sentenced the 38-year-old Kosovar to an unconditional prison term of twelve months, and the regional court in Leoben to an unconditional prison term of 20 months – each for several serious property crimes. The man had been wanted since April 6: He had used an approved exit to escape. After changing his shelter a few times, he was finally tracked down in Linz on Saturday.

The 38-year-old said he wanted to take a longer break from prison, especially as he would not face any further punishment for his escape anyway. He was taken back to the Ried im Innkreis prison.
