Escape from Tarkov’s final update is coming out today, which will finally open up the long-awaited “Streets of Tarkov” zone… or part of it, anyway. There’s a new area to explore, new skills to learn, new weapons to get used to. Finally, with the release of the update, the game added support for AMD FSR 2.1 smart scaling and much more.

Like patch 0.12.12.30 before it, patch 0.13 adds new elements to the Escape from Tarkov map, although this time the changes are quite significant. The streets that Battlestate has been talking about for a while are now explorable, though not all of the new territory is available just yet.

According to Battlestate and the 0.13 patch notes, this update adds “a part of the city of Tarkov located at the intersection of Primorsky Prospekt and Klimov Street”. Among the new locations to explore are a hotel, a news agency building, an abandoned factory, and “other urban infrastructure.” More locations in the city will be added in future updates.

Of course, that’s not all that’s on offer in the new Escape from Tarkov update. New skills and weapons have been added to the game to help you in combat, including the GP-25 grenade launcher, SR-2M submachine gun, and RSH-12 assault revolver. New skills “Light Armor” and “Heavy Armor” allow you to specialize in any type of armor, and the “Charisma” skill has also been redesigned: now it affects the cost of insurance, paid statements and much more.

Repair kits also received some fun new effects in this update. Weapons, vests, and plates can now receive a standard or rare upgrade if you repair them with a repair kit. Of course, there are caveats: for example, in order to improve items, you need to reach level 10 of the corresponding skill. Be sure to read the patch notes to find out exactly how the new repair kit mechanic works.

If you prefer the friendlier and less stressful Tarkov, you’ll be pleased to know that the co-op mode has also received some changes. New settings have been added to reduce energy and water consumption, as well as the ability to customize bots or completely remove them from the game. New stims have also been added, and some bosses will showcase new voice lines.

If you want to read patch notesyou can do so on the official Battlestate forums.
