Deep concern was expressed regarding the continued escalation of violence and the catastrophic increase in the number of civilian casualties” , indicated the Kremlin in a press release following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.
Need for “an immediate ceasefire”
Vladmir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan once once more affirmed the need for “an immediate ceasefire” and “the resumption of the negotiation process”, according to the Kremlin.
The Turkish presidency, for its part, indicated that the two heads of state had discussed “the alarming developments in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the measures to be taken to avoid an escalation”.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan also indicated that it was “regrettable to target civilian installations and that Turkey did not view such acts favorably”, according to the terms of a press release.
