Dhe Austropop concert under the title “es woa sche” as a homage to Georg Danzer, who would have celebrated his 75th birthday this year, was well received.
After the organizers Karl and Monika Hintermeier welcomed the audience, the Maria Ma Terzett, founded in 2019, opened the homage to the musician Georg Danzer, who died in 2006, with the song “When will we meet once more?” Songs like “Ruf mi ned au”, “Elfi”, “Weiße Pferde”, “Lass mi amoi no d’Sun aufgehn segn” and many more awakened many memories of “Schurli” among the visitors.
In his lively moderation, Ulli Bäer told anecdotes from Danzer’s life, from his collaboration with Danzer and also from his nine-year work as “Kapellmeister” of Austria 3 with Reinhard Fendrich, Georg Danzer and Wolfgang Ambros. This provided an interesting insight into life from the 60s to the 2000s. The virtuoso solos by the three artists Maria Ma on the dulcimer, Christian Einheller on the percussion and Ulli Bäer on the guitar also impressed the audience.
City councilor Helmut Leonhartsberger summarized his enthusiasm: “A percussionist – you think there are three people playing, a dulcimer, which you would expect from folk music, in combination with a guitar, creates Austropop that I have never experienced before. A different kind of sound experience. An absolutely great concert.”
