Some posters for the “Avengers 4” sequel “Spider-Man: Far From Home” recently caused ridicule and discussions on the Internet. Now another poster apparently also enraged “Nick Fury” Samuel L. Jackson.
The campaign for “Spider-Man: Far From Home” has recently been at least as much a topic on the film pages of this world as the MCU film itself – thanks to a US IMAX poster that takes some getting used to and the rather idiosyncratic Chinese poster motifs. Now another poster is making headlines, but not necessarily for the motif itself, but for a conspicuous “mistake” and Samuel L. Jackson’s reaction to it:
Eye patch left or right?
When comparing the two posters above, it is noticeable that ex-SHIELD director Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, wears his eye patch once on the left and once on the right. But which is the right variant? Of course, hardcore Marvel fans will immediately know that the banner on the right (with the eye patch over Fury’s left eye) is the only correct version.
The other image is less likely to be an accidental Photoshop error and more likely to be a deliberate reflection, which is used from time to time to adapt an existing motif to the desired needs. Of course, when the picture has such a distinctive feature as an eye patch on one side of the face (and the real version is right next to it), it’s hard to miss.
Typical Samuel L Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson appears in his Instagram-Post certainly not happy regarding being so “defaced” when he asks: “What the bloody hell is going on here???!!!” But one should not take the deliberately exaggerated indignation in the best Samuel L. Jackson manner too seriouslynot even if he assures in the following hashtags that heads will roll and he with a characteristic „Muthafukkah“ underlines once once more that Nick Fury wears his eye patch on the left.
Then we can do it ourselves from July 4, 2019 once more on the big screen convince when Fury joins Spidey (Tom Holland) in his new solo adventure Spider-Man: Far From Home.
