New episodes from September 26th
Vienna (OTS) – The stars of the Austrian and international book market – regularly on ORF III once more from autumn:
Cultural journalist and presenter Heinz Sichrovsky will welcome writers and celebrities to the literary discussion for the first time on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 10:45 p.m. in the completely renewed “erLesen” format. With a new setting (bar instead of bookshelf) and concept (individual conversations instead of panel discussions), recorded in the tried and tested home – the old goods market on MA 48 – the program presents the most important literary new releases of the season as part of the “ORF III Cultural Tuesday”. Heinz Sichrovsky talks to the authors regarding their work, but also regarding their favorite reading material, current events, socially relevant topics, historical and very personal matters.
In the first autumn issue of “erLesen” Sichrovsky meets the Swiss bestselling author Martin Suter in Zurich and talks to him regarding his new book “Melody”. The German journalist and writer Tom Hillenbrand continues no less prominently: in his scientific thrillers “Hologrammatica” and “Qube,” the author gives visionary perspectives on today’s AI debate and returns this fall with “The Invention of the Smile.” The third guest is the award-winning Salzburg author Kathrin Röggla. Most recently, her novel “Ongoing Proceedings” made it onto the longlist for the German Book Prize.
ORF III program manager Peter Schöber during a photo shoot for the program relaunch: “’The literary program ‘erLesen’ has found its permanent home in a Viennese institution, the 48er-Tandler, since 2017. I am therefore particularly pleased that we can now return to the tried and tested premises following the summer break with a new concept of the successful format. Big thanks go to the city of Vienna and to MA 48 department head Josef Thon, with whom ORF III has a long-standing partnership.”
MA 48 department head Josef Thon: “We are very pleased to have been able to host ‘erLesen’ for six years now. Many prominent actors, book authors and contemporary witnesses have already been guests in Vienna’s second-hand market. They are important multipliers for the sensible reuse of beautiful old goods. The 48er Tandler is not only good for the environment and your wallet, but also supports charitable institutions.”
Cultural journalist and presenter Heinz Sichrovsky: “After 13 years, you remain yourself, what’s more, you become yourself once more to an increased extent:
That’s a lot for a show. This means: ‘erLesen’ is, as in the beginning, entirely dedicated to the authors and their books. They are celebrated because they are what it’s all regarding.”
