Eriksen returns to Manchester United training

Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen made an early return to action, trying to give Manchester United an extra boost three months before the end of his season.
Eriksen (31 years old) was expected to return at the end of April following injuring his ankle, but he participated in the “Red Devils” exercises on Tuesday.
However, Dutch coach Erik Ten Hag’s squad will miss Eriksen and suspended Brazilian midfielder Casemiro during Brentford’s visit to Old Trafford on Wednesday, in a postponed league match, where he currently ranks fifth.
United have not won the league since mid-February, affected by several local and continental competitions.
Ten Hag spoke of the importance of Eriksen and Casemiro, saying that “games are always decided in midfield”.
He continued, “When you miss players of a high level, things are clear, but despite that you have to play matches and win them.”
United reached the quarter-finals of the European League (Europa League), the semi-finals of the local cup and lifted the League Cup in February, ending a period of six years in which it was not crowned with any title.
But it fell to fifth place in the league, following falling to Newcastle 0-2.
“They beat us 61-16 in attacking challenges, 78-48 in defense. You can’t win a game like this,” Ten Hag explained.
United is looking for revenge once morest Brentford, who inflicted a humiliating loss in the first leg, 4-0.
