PSSI CHAIRMAN Erick Thohir said that two new naturalized players, Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen, will soon be sworn in as Indonesian citizens next week. This is so that both of them can immediately defend the Indonesian national team in the continuation of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

PSSI is currently waiting for the Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the transfer of Thom and Ragnar’s status to Indonesian citizens. After that, the oath was taken, followed by the issuance of an Indonesian passport and the transfer of federation.

“Hopefully in a day or two the President can issue his letter (Presidential Decree) so that next week Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen will take the oath,” said Erick Thohir in Jakarta, Thursday (14/3).

Thom and Ragnar are certain to miss Indonesia’s home match once morest Vietnam in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers which will take place next week, March 21. Even so, both are projected to appear in the away match in Hanoi on March 26.

“Depending on this process, you have to make ID cards, passports, registration. We are trying so that Thom and Ragnar can join once morest Vietnam on March 26,” added Erick.

The Red and White Team played the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Group F Asia Zone match once morest Vietnam on March 21 and March 26.

Coach Shin Tae-yong has called 28 players to prepare. From the list of players who were called up, there were four new naturalized names who received calls, namely Jay Idzes, Nathan Tjoe-A-On, Thom Haye, and Ragnar Oratmangoen.

Meanwhile, Nathan and Jay have completed the naturalization process so they can play immediately. (Z-8)
