Dr. Erich Haider, born on January 19, 1944, studied business administration and graduated in social and economic sciences from the University of Graz. In 2003, Erich Haider, as commercial director of Wien Energie, was responsible for the conclusion of the sponsorship agreement with SK Rapid and, until his election to the executive board, of which he was a member from 2013 to 2019, he was a representative of the main sponsor, member of the board of trustees and an enthusiastic supporter of the SK Rapid.
Over the years, a close friendship developed between our future Honorary President Rudi Edlinger, who unfortunately died in 2021, and the two of them often traveled together to training camps (in the winter to Turkey, Spain, etc.) even before Erich Haider was elected to Michael Krammer’s presidency Portugal, in the summer within Austria) and also at international away games, the academic, who made great contributions to the SK Rapid in connection with the new construction project of the Allianz Stadium, was a regular guest, as well as at our matches in the venerable Gerhard Hanappi Stadium and in earnest -Happel Stadium in the Prater.
Haider then became a member of the Board of Trustees once more, and around the Annual General Meeting in 2022 he also represented this body in the SK Rapid election committee. Since the summer of 2022, the person celebrating his birthday has also been an honorary member of his heart’s association.
