Zeng Zhijian said that his family had always wanted him to study hard, but he had not listened carefully to what they said before, so he wanted to take advantage of his imprisonment to resume his studies to give his family peace of mind. He also pointed out that he actually wanted to “test the temperature of the water” in taking the three subjects of the DSE this time and “see if he has the heart to read back and whether he has the ability.” He also pointed out that the prison environment is noisy, making it difficult to concentrate and easily distracted. “There are many things that I cannot overcome or control, and there are also many things that I feel unsatisfactory regarding, but I can still choose to continue to face them, so I I will always remind myself to focus.”
