Eric Bieniemy will leave the Kansas City Cheifs following winning the Super Bowl LVII. According to the NFL Network report, the Washington Commanders have hired Bieniemy as their new offensive coordinator.
Bieniemy spent ten years with the Chiefs, the last five as offensive coordinator. According to the initial report, the agreement with the Commanders will be for two seasons. Matt Nagy has the best chance of taking Bieniemy’s job in Kansas City.
Former Chiefs offensive coordinator he took Scott Turner’s place in Washington. He held that position the past three seasons with the Commanders and, on average, finished 27th in yards per game and 28th in points per game.
During the last few seasons, Bieniemy was a candidate for several head coaching vacancies in the league, but did not specify any. In this offseason he was interviewed by the Indianapolis Colts, but Shane Steichen got the job.

Looking for the next Commanders quarterback
Bieniemy will have to find a new quarterback. During the 2022 season they used Carson Wentz, Taylor Heinicke and Sam Howell. The latter aims to be a starter by 2023.
Quarterbacks available on the market include Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Jimmy Garoppolo and Teddy Bridgewater. If looking for someone in the 2023 Draft, with the 16th pick, they might find someone like Kentucky’s Will Levis or Florida’s Anthony Richardson.
