Eric Adams Travels to Greece and Qatar – NBC New York (47)

NEW YORK — New York City Mayor Eric Adams will be traveling abroad for a couple of international visits later this week.

The mayor will depart on Wednesday for an initial stop in Athens, Greece, where he is scheduled to attend the 2022 Mayors Summit Against Anti-Semitism.

Adams’ attendance at the conference comes on the heels of a possible foiled attack on a synagogue in Manhattan. Two men were arrested last weekend in Penn Station following making social media posts suggesting an attack on the city’s Jewish community.

The next day, the mayor travels to Qatar to meet with various government, security and economic development officials, said his public agenda released on Friday.

Doha, Qatar, is currently hosting this year’s World Cup. The mayor’s office says the trip is aimed at helping New York learn more regarding the big event before hosting the games in 2026.

New York and New Jersey will play host, among 16 cities, to host some of the upcoming games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
