The president of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, heads the unofficial preliminary results of the elections held this Sunday, which outline him for another five-year term.

As unofficial preliminary results of the general election are released, the candidate of a coalition of parties led by the ruling Justice and Development (AK) advances with more than 50 percent of a partial ballot count that exceeds the 80 percent.
While his rival from the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, gets 43.60 percent and third place for nationalist candidate Sinan Ogan with 5.31 percent.
For his part, the president of the Supreme Electoral Council (YSK), Ahmet Yener, specified that progress has been made in counting approximately 80 percent of the votes, so far.
Likewise, he reiterated that there has been no problem in the electoral process or in the system and that in the next few hours they will present a balance with the official results.
More than 64.1 million voters were summoned to this electoral appointment that, in addition to defining the candidate who will occupy the Presidency of the country, will renew the 600 seats in Parliament.
Candidate Statement
The president of Türkiye and candidate for re-election, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, declared from Ankara highlighting the high participation of the population in the elections, stating that it was one of the “elections with the highest participation in our history”.
He stressed that the day ended without regrettable incidents and thanked those who voted for his party and for his option for the Presidency, beating his closest opponent by more than 2 million votes.
Likewise, he urged trust in the electoral system and reaffirmed that, as he has done in previous processes, he will respect the will of the population.
He also expressed gratitude for the support given to the Popular Alliance so that it might reach a majority in Parliament.
On the other hand, the presidential candidate Kılıçdaroğlu declared that they are waiting for the official results and urged the population to wait for them too.
In addition, he asserted that “we will be here until the last vote, until we know the last vote we will be here.”
