Equilibrium pointed out that Abe laid the foundation for the Indo-Pacific. Leaving the legacy of the new world order, 21st Century

on July 9th Asst. Prof. Dr. Dulyapak Pricharach Deputy Director of the Institute of East Asian Studies and Lecturer of the Southeast Asian Studies Program Faculty of Arts Thammasat University wrote a message published via Facebook stating

My condolences on the passing of Lord Shinzo Abe.

In my view, former Prime Minister Abe has a vision that will greatly affect the global geopolitical system and Asia. Since 2007, Abe gave a speech in the Indian Parliament titled “Confluence of the Two Seas” or “Confluence of the Two Seas”. The Confluence of the Two Seas”, which describes the linking of the Indian and Pacific Ocean seas through Japan-India economic and security cooperation.

This is the source of the strategy. “Indo-Pacific” that is famous today

Abe views China’s rise to power in Asia-Pacific with trepidation. He therefore aimed for a strategic friendship with India that resulted in a siege of China with Japan on the Pacific Ocean and India on the Indian Ocean.

At the same time, he spoke of the curve of democracy and the curve of freedom and wealth. It brings together four Indo-Pacific states: Japan, India, United States and Australia. until the formation of the Chatumit Circle or “Quad”, which is a member of the Four Corners that fixed the strategic line around the Chinese framework and gradually shifting the international political focus from Asia-Pacific led by China to the Indo-Pacific with Japan and three other allies as the mainstays.

Indeed, Abe’s vision contributed greatly to the movement of the Indo-Pacific. Even in his 2007 speech, Abe was not explicitly referring to the term Indo-Pacific. But his view affects the foundation of the strategic alliance system in the region.

Abe uses the word “Broader Asia or “Broader Asia” This means integration between East Asia and South Asia with Japan and India as the main actors. Abe sees the cooperation between the two nations that will enable this wider Asia to swirl across the Pacific to bring the United States and Australia into a coalition.

This reflects how Abe had been preparing to build the Quad long enough, pushing the idea of a broader Asia to be extended to the creation of the quadruple powers that controlled both the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

Therefore, today’s strategic world (Which was influenced by the Indo-Pacific framework that prompted China to forge strategies to counter and counterbalance the hostile powers) was a product of Abe’s geopolitical vision. Abe therefore influenced the power structure of contemporary international relations.

Abe’s departure This does not mean that his strategic legacy will decay. But what he used to push has become a key component of the new world order in the 21st century.

This is a model nationalist leader with a vision of expanding Japan’s power to stand out on the world stage. but at the same time using geopolitical perspectives to change the world

As a result, the Indo-Pacific gradually became a new territory that merged the Indian and Pacific Oceans into a strategic single-ocean region, and thus enabled Japan to maintain its national interests by shifting relations between the territories. east asia South Asia and Southeast Asia (Including the Americas and Australia – Oceania) with a more nimble and powerful
