EPP leader Weber calls AfD a “neo-Nazi party”

It is the only party “that publicly formulates Dexit and this ‘Europe must die’. That is the true DNA of this neo-Nazi party,” said Weber at the CDU state party conference on Saturday in Ludwigsburg. The AfD is a “rotten” and “corrupt” party, said Weber, who also used the word “traitor” for the party.

“If the AfD is on the move in Europe, then the AfD is one of the most radical among the radicals,” said Weber. Even the French right-wing populist Marine Le Pen is considering throwing the AfD out of the joint group in the EU Parliament because of its migration policy.

Criticism of AfD politicians is currently being raised, among other things, because of their possible proximity to Russia and China. The AfD’s top candidate for the European elections, Maximilian Krah, and Bundestag member Petr Bystron, who is in second place on the AfD’s European election list, have been making headlines for weeks because of possible connections to pro-Russian networks.
