During the noon of this Thursday, a passenger who suffers from Convulsive Syndrome due to Epilepsy, fell from a moving passenger van on Naguanagua University Avenue. He was “hung” at the back door of the collective unit, which in itself caused some injuries and might have put his life at risk.
It is that the witnesses point out that the young man fell on a part of the road where a car or a motorcycle might circulate and worsen the situation.
Officials attached to the Naguanagua Municipal Police motorized patrol service and Civil Protection paramedics identified him as Gerardo Samuel Medina Lobo, 25 years old, residing in the Trincheras sector, specifically on El Salto street, house # 117.
They quickly transferred him to the Miguel Franco outpatient clinic, a medical center located very close to the scene of the incident.
Convulsed at the time of his fall from the van
Upon regaining consciousness, the young man indicated that he suffers from the aforementioned syndrome and explained that he was at the back door of the public transport unit when he had a seizure, which caused him to fall to the pavement. He alleges that he does not remember the characteristics of the passenger vehicle in which he was riding.
At the time, the doctor who treated him only cleaned the wounds and was waiting for an ambulance to transfer him to the Dr. Ángel Larralde University Hospital, where he would undergo a more exhaustive evaluation by medical specialists.
A relative who was identified as her aunt, named Milagro Lobo, showed up at the scene.
The police authorities are trying to identify the driver and the collective unit, since they irresponsibly did not stop to give assistance and ask for help, nor did they protect him to avoid the onslaught of other vehicles that were passing by at that moment.
