The weather is likely to be unleashed on Thursday with the arrival of a low-pressure system that will bring in its wake a lot of instability and precipitation, with stormy episodes over southwestern and central Quebec.

In addition to the showers that can be sustained in certain sectors, the return of this stormy trend, accompanied by strong gusts, will carry a risk of tornado in the Ottawa Valley and the St. Lawrence River Valley.

Thursday, the weather will take on tropical appearances in the south-west of the province, while 10 to 20 millimeters of rain are expected in Montreal where humidity will be felt with a Humidex 32, according to Environment Canada.

The rainy system will move in the followingnoon towards the center of the province where certain sectors, such as Quebec and Charlevoix, will receive showers which will reach Estrie and Beauce in the evening, according to the federal agency.

Eastern Quebec will be luckier since it will not be affected by the mayhem of this stormy episode, at least until Friday morning, when the mercury will drop under a partially overcast sky.

On Friday, the weather will be generally sunny in southwestern Quebec, especially in Montreal where it will be 26 degrees, but showers will be present for the central and eastern sectors of the province.
