Five teams will compete in the Cantaurense basketball tournament, which opened this weekend on the covered court in the Inavi II sector of the capital of the Freites municipality.
The participating quintets are Los Cocos, Los del Poli, Surte y Cuídate, Emperadores and Titanes, who will compete for a month and a half to win first place.
During the opening ceremony, the tournament’s godmother was chosen, with this distinction going to the representative of the Emperadores team, María Ruiz.
The event organizer, Humberto Tovar, thanked all the participants and the public for their motivation and support for sport in the town.
On the opening day, the talent of Jhonny “Churrero” Gómez was also recognized for his long career in this sport.
Gómez is not currently in Chamariapa lands, which is why his wife and children received the recognition.
