EP Jayarajan| Police registered a case against EP Jayarajan; The action was taken on the complaint of Youth Congress workers

Thiruvananthapuram: The police have registered a case against LDF convener EP Jayarajan for pushing the Youth Congress workers who were protesting against the Chief Minister on an Indigo flight. Valiyatura police have charged the accused with attempted murder and conspiracy under sections 308, 307, 506 and 120 of the IPC. Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate Court had ordered to file a case on the complaint of Youth Congress workers who are accused in the case. The case was taken according to this order of the court.

Apart from EP Jayarajan, a case has also been registered against Chief Minister’s gunman Anil Kumar and personal staff member Suneesh. The accused in the case, Farzeen Majeed and Naveen Kumar, filed a petition in the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning demanding that a case be filed against EP Jayarajan. The petition says that EP Jayarajan beat up those who protested on the flight. It is also pointed out in the petition that the court is being approached because no action has been taken despite filing a complaint with the police.

IndiGo has imposed a two-week flight ban on Youth Congressmen and a three-week flight ban on EP Jayaran in connection with the protest. But from the beginning, the government has taken the stand that no case will be filed against EP in the incident. The Youth Congress filed a petition citing this.

The complaint of the youth congressmen was that the EP ran towards them shouting ‘Don’t kill’, kicked them and stabbed them in the neck. They presented to the court the footage of the complainants coming out including the wheelchair and the footage of the plane. Attempt to murder has been charged in this incident.
