The capital of the Cyclades, Syros, obtained a journalistic mission from Turkey as a part of a press journey, organized by the E.O.T. Service. of Overseas Turkey in cooperation with the Tourism Workplace of the Municipality of Syros – Ermoupoli and the Deputy Mayor of Tourism of the Municipality of Syros – Ermoupoli Ms. Christianna Papitsi.
The purpose of the group was to advertise new Greek locations to the Turkish vacationer market, as Syros as a vacation vacation spot just isn’t significantly well-known within the neighboring nation.
The familiarization journey to Syros befell from 30.05.2024 to 03.06.2024 and a complete of 5 journalists and influencers participated in it.

The members of the expedition have been fascinated by Hermoupoli, town of Mercury and the capital of Syros and the Cyclades, which was not too long ago named (Traveller Assessment Awards 2024) because the 2nd most welcoming metropolis on the planet.
They walked its streets and alleys, admired its particular neoclassical structure, visited its imposing City Corridor, a piece of the German architect Ernst Ziller, the Municipal Theater of Apollo, a piece of the Italian architect Pietro Sampo, the mansions on the wave within the aristocratic district of Vaporia and naturally they visited Ano Syros, loved the view of Ermoupolis from above and realized concerning the life and music of Markos Vamvakaris.
They have been guided to the Industrial Museum and Hermoupolis Heritage – the previous Zisimatos textile manufacturing unit – which is preserved with all its gear and has been transformed into the Hermoupolis Textile Museum.

They have been fascinated by studying concerning the harmonious coexistence of Orthodox and Catholics and visited the Orthodox Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos, the patron saint of Hermoupolis, the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin and the Cathedral of Agios Georgios (or San Georges), which is the seat of the Catholic Diocese Syros and dominates the best level of the hill of Ano Syros.
Lastly, they traveled by boat to the northern a part of Syros which is mountainous and has been included within the Natura 2000 Community, received to know its northern seashores (Barbarousa, Aetos, Lia, Megas Lakkos, Marmari, Grammata), swam and visited the chapel of Agios Stefanos which it’s situated in a cave within the sea and may be accessed by boat or by organized climbing from Galissa.
