While the farmers took to the streets to demonstrate, the environmental activist, Camille Etienne, returned to BFMTV, this Monday, January 22, on the explosion of a building of the Regional Directorate of the Environment, in Carcassonne, in the night of Thursday January 18 to Friday January 19. The act was claimed by the Viticultural Action Committee.
For several days, the discontent of farmers has continued to grow in the face of the precariousness of their activity and the multiplication of standards and differences in treatment compared to other non-European countries.
To express this discontent, the latter notably blocked the A64. A highway that the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, does not wish to evacuate for the moment, as long as “there is no degradation”.

If for her part the environmental activist, Camille Etienne, recognizes the legitimacy of the farmers’ fight for their profession, particularly on the question of wages or even on the fact that they have “the highest suicide rate with a farmer who commits suicide every three days”, she deplores a “double standard” on the part of the government.
Explosion at the Carcassonne Regional Environment Directorate: “This is unbearable, whether the building is empty or not”, reacts the Minister of Agriculture via @lindependant

“When we (environmentalists, editor’s note) have less violent actions, we are treated as eco-terrorists,” she emphasizes. But when in Carcassonne a building is blown up by an explosion, a public building, an environmental agency, a bomb was planted all the same, we have a Minister of Agriculture who postpones a law, President Emmanuel Macron who asks prefects to go see the farmers. And finally, a Prime Minister who receives the authors. »
As a reminder, with regard to the building of the Regional Environment Directorate, the events took place on the night of Thursday January 18 to Friday January 19. There were no injuries in this explosion which was claimed by the Wine Action Committee. A CAV inscription was found on the fence of the enclosure.
