ABU DHABI, 27th September, 2017 (WAM) – The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi has partnered with CME to update and improve the “Badir” application and add innovative services to enhance the user experience, with a focus on instilling environmentally friendly behaviors within the UAE community.

The “Badir” application, which was developed by the Authority and worked on to be improved by CME, was designed to change the behavior patterns of community members by encouraging them to carry out daily environmental practices, earning points for these practices, and then exchanging them for rewards and incentives.

The application is in line with the efforts made by the Environment Agency to reduce carbon emissions and reduce the impact of human activities on the environment.

In appreciation for their efforts, users can obtain points that can later be exchanged for exclusive prizes and discounts. The tracking feature has also been improved by linking the application with other applications to obtain evidence of environmental practices.

The updated “Badir” application also includes a user loyalty platform designed by CME to encourage positive environmental behavior patterns, as the platform provides one convenient place to collect rewards for users’ positive environmental behavior.

With the update to the “Badir” application, government institutions and private sector companies across the UAE can now offer the application to their employees and stakeholders as it is a major program in the field of green participation and provides them with immediate access to high-quality incentives and provides them with a real-time control panel. This unprecedented feature allows institutions Ability to accurately track, improve and report tangible progress in its sustainability efforts.

Ahmed Baharoun, Executive Director of the Information Management, Science and Environmental Awareness Sector at the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, said: “The Authority is always keen to use the latest technologies to enhance its initiatives in the field of sustainability, and the updated Badir application will be more attractive to use and encourage sustainable lifestyles.”

George Al Rahban, General Manager of CME in the UAE, said: “Despite the importance of large-scale sustainability initiatives, it is the power of individual initiatives and changes in behavioral patterns that can truly pave the way for long-term impact, and with the updated Badir application, we are confident.” “The Authority will continue to achieve further progress in the field of environmental conservation through the use of innovative technology.”
