In an atmosphere of excitement, the meeting of the members of the theater workshop of the Municipality of Western Achaia took place, at the Cultural Center Melina Merkouri. Teenagers and older people exchanged opinions, discussed the goals of the theater workshop and in general the importance of art in our lives.
“No matter how many years pass and no matter how many difficulties a person faces, the theater should be an integral part of his life. With this in mind, we decided to implement this idea with the help of the experienced director Panos Anastasopoulos. Engaging in the theater or watching theatrical performances can only bring us good. That’s why I urge our citizens to take advantage of this opportunity, following all, theater is one of the few arts that manage to entertain and teach”, said the Mayor of Western Achaia Grigoris Alexopoulos.
For her part, the Deputy Mayor of Culture Nadia Askounis emphasized that the Workshop is aimed both at amateurs with experience in theater groups, as well as at people who are involved for the first time, with the aim of contributing to theoretical training, artistic expression, offering basic knowledge and acting tools for anyone who loves theater.
The theater workshop will operate with two Acting departments. One section is addressed to those who wish to take part in the performances of the works that will be presented soon. The second section is for all other artistic activities that include a show: Scenography, Painting, Music, Choreography, Costume Design, Make-up, Sound Lighting, etc.
