Game publisher CFK (CEO Koo Chang-sik) announced today (July 12th) that its new ultra-fast hyper ninja action game ‘Ninja Issen’ will be participating in Japan’s indie game festival ‘Beat Summit 2024’.
‘Ninja Ilsom’ is a ‘super-fast hyper ninja action’ genre game developed by domestic one-man indie game company ‘Asteroid-J’. The game features the exploits of the runaway ninja ‘Kiva’ and was released through Steam and Stove Indie on November 23rd of last year.
‘Beat Summit’ is Japan’s largest indie game festival, held in Kyoto. Since its inception in 2018, it has grown into a major event, attracting over 10,000 visitors each year. This year’s ‘Beat Summit 2024’ will take place from July 19th (Friday) to 21st (Sunday). While July 19th is dedicated to industry professionals, the general public can attend from July 20th to 21st.
‘Ninja Ilsom’ will be participating in Beat Summit 2024 in the Action / Adventure / Platformer genre category. The company has prepared demo versions for PC, Steam Deck, and Nintendo Switch. Notably, the Nintendo Switch demo version, currently in development and slated for release later this year, will be revealed for the first time at Beat Summit 2024. To commemorate ‘Ninja Ilsom’s’ participation, CFK will be holding a discount promotion for a week, from July 16th to July 23rd.
‘Ninja Island’ is a virtual future city with a cyberpunk atmosphere, rendered with a retro filter. It features nimble ninja action in one-on-many battles, providing players with the thrill of defeating enemies with a single sword and the enjoyment of utilizing various ninja skills to overcome bosses with unique patterns and relentless attacks.
‘Ninja Ilseom’ first gained attention last year when it was selected as ‘Best Indie’ at the ‘Made with Unity (MWU) Korea Awards 2022’, a Unity Engine-based content contest. Since then, it has been consistently exhibited at domestic and global game shows like G-Star 2022, PlayX4 2023, Banggu Seok Indie Game Show (BIGS) 2023, and Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2023, generating significant anticipation leading up to its release. Even before its launch, it ranked 2nd in Steam’s popular upcoming games and 1st in the action category.
In January of this year, the free update content ‘Hardcore Mode’ was released. Designed for multiplayer competition and scoring, it is considered a place where players can fully experience the fast-paced action. Alongside the update, the game’s tutorial was enhanced, bugs were fixed, and overall convenience was improved. ‘Ninja Ilsum’ is also set to release on Nintendo Switch later this year.
Separately, developer Asteroid J is developing a new spin-off of ‘Ninja Ilsom’ called ‘Shadow Zero’. It’s a cyberpunk style rogue-lite game that shares the same world as ‘Ninja Ilsom’. Additional information will be released at a later date.
