Under the term “Dystopien“ the ensemble NAMES addresses the field of meaning of “un- or miss-places” – as a counterpoint to Thomas More’s concept of positive, also fictional utopia. As part of a three-part concert series in 2023, various artistic positions dealing with dystopian forms and their heterotopias as “counterpositions or abutments” (Foucault) will be presented and put up for discussion. Composers and sound artists are invited to submit their works that deal with this complex of topics or to develop new works for them.
