Various state unions, led by the CTA de los Trabajadores, denounced this Monday the hardships suffered by their affiliates due to the deficient health coverage provided by Ipross, before which many resign themselves to dispensing with treatment or diagnosis, if they are not urgent, and others face the costs out of pocket.

Jorge Molina, head of the Río Negro CTA, said that they want an Ipross in which the workers have an active part in the management and for that “It is necessary to change the law.” He recalled that today they only have a presence in an “advisory council”, where they participate with voice but without vote.

He also stressed that the chronic lack of financing that the social work drags on and that led it to accumulate a debt of more than 8,000 million pesos “It would be resolved with the laundering of all wages.” Although the non-remunerative sums are often accepted by the same unions in parities, Molina said that the first responsibility lies with the State, because “offering sums in black is illegal.”

The CTA together with the Bariloche Soyem, Unter, ATE el Sitrajur and the Asspur health union and the Confederation of Municipal Workers They presented a petition this Monday that they will circulate throughout the province to gather signatures and present them later with a large mobilization in Viedma, scheduled for next month.

The petition claims the refunds “in time and form”. It also calls for the elimination of plus and medical care quotas, “professionals for all specialties and dentistry”, greater drug coverage, health “prevention policies” and 100% coverage in chronic and oncological diseases, among other points.

The collection of the plus and the delay in refunds

the leaders They denounced that the bonus that some doctors charge reaches 8,000 pesos per consultationas occurs in specialties with fewer professionals. Refunds, in some cases, take 90 days and they depend on the affiliate’s insistence, in others they are “without term”.

The general secretary of the Soyem, Brenda Morales, said that they decided to make a “great call” to reverse the constant deterioration of Ipross. He pointed out that the complaints that they have already presented through different channels “had no response” and that they also requested the intercession of their employer -that is, the municipal government- without any results.

Alicia Santibáñez, from the Asspur union, said that Salary contributions for Ipross are discounted in a timely manner, but health benefits are never available.

Some workers, faced with an urgent surgery, have had to disburse 500,000 pesos for the surgical material, waiting for an uncertain reimbursement from the social work. Santibáñez said that they see an “abandonment” of the workers, sincewarned that Ipross accumulates a debt of 50 million pesos with the public hospital (where she works as a nurse) because all the time there are patients from the social work who do not have the resources to go to the private system.

Also the referent of Sitrajur Valeria Geldres said that the situation is increasingly critical, especially for women who demand gynecological care and for any patient who needs control follow-ups, because the providers, when verifying that the coverage is from Ipross, give shifts “for several months”.

Molina insisted on the need for laundering of wages, which would double the income of Ipross and would be enough to balance the accountsand also in the change in the law to incorporate workers with decision-making power.
