“Enough attacks on civilians” –

“We strongly ask Israel – which has the right to defend itself, as we have always said – to stop attacks that lead to a very high number of civilian casualties, which is in conflict with international law.” Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said this in an interview with Corriere della Sera. “There is a process underway, there are mediations,” the Deputy Prime Minister added. “We are against any act that further increases tension and involves innocent people. It is time for a ceasefire, as Joe Biden also just said, it is not too late.”

Regarding Ukraine, Tajani says: “We have always been clear on this point. We support Ukraine without ifs or buts, we can understand their desire to defend themselves even by counterattacking, but we are not at war with Russia. The weapons we have supplied cannot be used to attack Russia on its territory.”
